Items Frequently Counterfeited

There were quite a number of well-recognized brands that were frequently counterfeited and sold to the public at specific costs.  The U.S. Customs and Border Protection had in custody a freight of fake brands moving its way inside the country.  The entire amount of the items seized was $178.9 million.  On top of the list are electronic devices such as tablet PC’s and smartphones with a total amount of $39 million of fake items.  Shoes are the next easily faked.  The current amount of fake shoes in custody is $25.3 million.  Fakers are now marketing classy brands such as Christian Louboutin and Jimmy Choo, which originally sells for $600 and the ever-popular Ugg boots that is $200 per pop originally.

Familiarizing With The Biggest Bank Robberies Of All Time

Technology has taken control of the good old traditional bank robbery.  Money is no anymore taken by leaping on a train, demolishing a hole in bank’s walls or digging a tunnel under a vault.  Currently, large amounts of cash are taken with the use of a computer and, while banks continue to be victims to the robber handing a note to the teller, the times of the large robbery may no longer exist.  Nobody would forget the $20,000, equal to over $450,000 nowadays, robbery by Butch Cassidy and his ally the Sundance Kid.  People will always remember the famous tandem of Bonnie and Clyde who were well-known for a series of bank robberies and the slaughter of nine police officers and many citizens.

Whitney Houston Denies Being Broke

Star gossip websites ran a report the previous week stating that Whitney Houston is “broke as a joke.”  They even cited an unidentified source describing that Whitney would be dispossessed if not for the open-handedness of close supporters.  Whitney’s group swiftly denied the gossips and declares they are “false and ridiculous“.  Her representative stresses out that she just completed a movie entitled Sparkle, co-starring Jordin Sparks, and she didn’t made it for free.  If Whitney is in need of cash, she has a different source she can lean to.  Don’t be amazed to witness Whitney Houston foreclose on her step-mother’s residence shortly.

Q4 Operational Damages Worse Than Q3 Observed By Unipetrol

Czech downstream oil collection Unipetrol anticipates to support a fourth-quarter operational damage not as good as during the third quarter caused by a one-off deficiency at a subordinate, it declared on Thursday.  The firm, mainly preserved by Poland's PKN Orlen, confirmed it anticipated to reserve a one-off hit of over 500 million crowns or $25.61 million linked to the deficiency of stationary assets at its Paramo unit.  The cause for the deficiency is the reduction in the cost of the properties for the reason of the declined external location in which PARAMO functions," stated by Unipetrol.  Unipetrol dispatched a 230 million crown operational damage in the third quarter.

Italian Cruise Ship Resolution To Be Claimed By IRS

The Costa unit of Carnival Cruises is presenting unharmed commuters €11,000 or $14,460 apiece to pay them off for missing luggage and emotional shock.  Costa will also compensate travelers for their voyage, travel and health expenditures.  This contract only includes those who underwent no physical injury, not the approximately 100 people hurt or families who lost family members.  Luckily, recompenses for physical damages are free from tax.  Physical illness is also tax-free but not physical indications caused by psychological distress such as headaches.  Neither the IRS nor Congress has made clear what’s physical and what’s not, so tax disagreements are normal.  Still, the $14,000 travel contract is exclusively for travellers without physical harm, which show it could be taxed.
