Several Companies Held On To Their Baby Boomers
A few companies are keeping their proficient baby boomers still at service and that includes those who have reached retirement age. During 1985, 10.8% of individuals more than 65 years old were employed full-time or part-time. By 2011, that number jumped to more than 18% as confirmed by the AARP Public Policy Institute. These baby boomers, when they retire, give opportunities for younger generations to take over their tasks. But at technology, engineering and companies, letting go of their competitive workers will lead to a downfall in company proficiency. Based on the latest AARP poll of 1,000 human resources directors, 69% confirmed they will keep older employees as part-time workers and consultants.
